Hello beautiful Souls. Today my message is about our own conflicting thoughts.
It is a real struggle when we experience a discomfort of our own thoughts being in conflict and two cognitions that are incompatible with each other.
This often happens when the state of having inconsistent thoughts, beliefs or attitudes, especially as related to behavioural decisions and attitude are experiencing changes.
An example is like the rationalization when we are dieting and we "cheat." How often do we commit to healthy eating and alas, a birthday celebration cake beckons you? We may say "Eh, it's only one slice!"
This is when our thoughts and actions do not always align! When our beliefs go against our actions and we find our beliefs start to clash between actions and our inner feelings. This causes conflicted feelings and called cognitive dissonance.
When we want to please someone, yet know it's not serving you or you know it's the wrong thing to do. This could extend to acting or behaving in a way that maybe legally, morally or ethically wrong. This is when conflicting cognitive dissonance plays a huge role.
If you purchase something and then have "buyers remorse", you may also feel a inner conflict. A tool you could use to avoid this, is to take time to research more about your intention or purchase.
When we have inner conflict of thoughts versus our actions, we will find that we will need to either reject, explain it away or totally avoid a situation or decision. This is how we align our make sure our mind and body are connected and aligned. Listen to your intuition and be your own coach!
We have to be mindful of continuous consistency and reinforcement of our moral, ethnic and personal boundaries and beliefs that serve us best. We have to listen to the inner voice of reason and justice. This is our subconscious mind telling, that little voice in our head saying "listen to me"
