Hello beautiul Souls. My message today is about denial. I have had some things happen in life that were hard, most of us have walked a hard journey at times and all I could think of was "This just shouldn't have happened."
When we find ourselves thinking that something just shouldn't happen it causes us a lot of anxiety. With this type of concept I believe we are in disagreement of reality and the truth. We are trying to protect ourselves from the hurt, disappointment and sorrow.
We spend a lot of time in this space of judgement and condemnation of a situation or circumstance we do not want to find acceptance of. We can get to a stage where we find this kind of thinking starts to define who we are... but aren't in reality.
We are, in fact arguing with a part of ourselves to give some comfort to the other part of us that wants this narrative to serve us for our own needs and desires.
Can we find a justified reason to argue with reality? Do we think it is a battle we can win without deceiving ourselves? The most detrimental thought is the power of illusion! We have to look at ourselves in terms of authenticity.
Those who deny reality are not focused on the thought of a real connection. They are focused on controlling a situation or person to find what they would like it to be. If we continue to live in denial we will find ourselves in a space of continued pain and suffering.
We have to take a certain amount of ownership and commitment to our behaviour and our emotions. We can make changes to accommodate this need to control the outcomes. We cannot however, control reality!
We have to learn to find acceptance in the path of healing and allow time fo the processing the reality! Once we find the space to feel the safety and comfort that we can manage the situation we will no longer have the need to deny it. Sometimes we need to reach out and find this space and support. Reaching out is not a weakness, it is a strength to find healing and growth.
