Giving up vs surrender

Writer: Avra PoelmannAvra Poelmann

Hello beautiful souls. My message today is about the difference between surrender and giving up.

People often confuse the two. Surrender involves continuing to take steps to halt something when appropriate, while giving up means a total shift of all your energy elsewhere.

Surrender is acknowledging that you have limited power in a circumstance over a person or situation.

Giving up means you are desperate to attempt to exert power over something to protect yourself and your heart.

Surrender is about acceptance and admitting that you have done your best. You may not have all the answers but it may allow you to embrace help externally and find solutions and alternatives.

Giving up will shut down any new opportunities and close the doors to anything new in your life that could assist your growth. Giving up is feeling hopeless and extreme intensity of defeat.

Surrender offers a calm acceptance and sense of relief that you have done what you can. Surrender is continuing and allowing things to develop and grow.

Giving up means you are shifting your energy else where.

Surrender is allowing things to be ...what they are meant to be without anxiety and stress.

Giving up is about "NOW OR NEVER ". It is finality and no return.

Surrender is giving yourself permission to accept what is meant to be and finding acceptance that it is what it is.
