Loneliness or freedom in silence ?

Writer: Avra PoelmannAvra Poelmann

Hello Beautiful Souls. My message today is about inner peace and allowing the quiet in.

Some people love silence and some hate it. Some people need the radio or television on, so there is some noise. The most common reason for this disconnection to silence and stillness is the perception of loneliness.

The first part of allowing the quiet in, is about being comfortable with the feeling of being alone and enjoying your own space. To access this serenity we need to focus. Focus on our breathing and see, hear and get in touch with our body. When we stop and feel our breath and feel our body we find a stillness and a comfortable void.

This can be a space of great emptiness or freedom. This silence is our grounding. As we Inhale, we need to really focus on what our body is doing. Close our eyes and allow ourself the freedom to connect to our inner self by bringing our focus back to our breath.

Each time we are feeling overwhelmed, we have to stop and listen to our breathing and notice how our chest fills and rises...then empties and drops. It is the ebb and flow of your body, rising and falling and washing away the personal attachment of our emotions. This is the difference between freedom and lonliness.
