My message today is about self love. If you had to list the things you love, would you list yourself?
So many people ask me, how do you love yourself? Self love is part of your everyday tasks. The first thing to remember about self love is not to put yourself down. If you can respect others, you can respect yourself too this is the single most important part of self love.
Be comfortable in your own skin, be grateful for the simple things you can accomplish physically, mentally and spiritually. Give yourself a pat on the back and don't rely on others to lift you up. If you have body issues and are making you self conscious, only you and your mindset can change that.
I personally have struggled with weight gain all my life. I only realised that this was due to my Thyroid imbalance and the medication I am on. I learnt to adjust my diet and then accept who I am for who I am. I learned that it ok as long as I take care of myself to the best of my capabilities.
Be that person that can jump in the pool confidently and feel the freedom without feeling self conscious. Be that person who wears shorts even though you don't think your legs are the best. Be that person who wears what makes you confident of who you are.
Most of all respect what you can be in control of for yourself not to please others. Many others have far worse issues than you. There are those who have daily challenges and they continue with positivity and gratitude.
If you want to be thinner, fatter, bigger or smaller, then do what you can to eat and exercise accordingly. Live with the consequences and only hold yourself accountable. Stop complaining and making excuses and embrace your unique beautiful self.
Give yourself pampering and some me time. Most of all be gentle on yourself and do what you can achieve. What you can't change you need to find acceptance for and love yourself inside as the beautiful person who you are. The is no perfect image physically, it is about being healthy and having a kind heart full of love.
Self love is not just about learning to accept our physical issues. It is about loving who you are, do you like who you are?
If you dont like who you are then start making the changes for what you can be in control of. Learn to start putting yourself on the top of the list of things you love...YOU are beautiful.
