Hello beautiful Souls . My message today is about overcoming denial and the path to peace.
My message today highlights that the thought "This just shouldn't have happened" is an unwinnable argument with reality that locks us into anxiety and continued pain.
Denial is an illusion—an attempt to control the uncontrollable—and prevents us from living authentically. Read that again!
I do believe the solution is found in ownership and acceptance in moving from denial to acceptance and ultimately…peace.
Conquering denial can be a simple journey of changing the narrative to self!
To shift from fighting reality to finding peace, you must commit to active acceptance.
Here are some practical options:
1. Embrace the forward questions:
Actively focus on your thinking. Whenever you feel the thought of "This shouldn't be happening to me”, replace it with the empowering question: "Now that this has happened, how will I move forward?" This assists to reclaim your power.
2. Practice complete ownership:
Take full ownership of your emotions and behavior in response to the situation. Revisit your actions and behaviour. Acknowledge the pain without judgment, recognizing that while you didn't choose the hurt, you are struggling and you are choosing the healing path.
3. Find Courage in Connection:
Actively seek the safety and comfort that make reality manageable. Reaching out for support (a friend, family, or professional) is not a weakness; it is a strength that dissolves the isolation denial thrives on.
Acceptance is not resignation; it is the courageous, authentic choice to engage with life as it is, which is the only real path to healing and growth.
Remember more people would learn from their mistakes and challenges if they weren’t so busy denying them! “How honest are you with yourself?” Is something we need to visit often. See, speak and feel your truth!
