Hello beautiful Souls! Ever struggled to know if you should follow your gut instinct or make a judgment call?
The secret is simple: you don't just have one brain, you have three powerful centers communicating constantly. The key to great decisions is making them harmonious.
The wisdom of our three brains:
1. The Head: Logic & Data
Your Head Brain is the master of Logic, critical thinking, and forming Judgments based on past experiences and data. It helps you assess situations and calculate outcomes. But remember, the conscious mind is only 10% of your thinking—it needs input from the other two!
2. The Gut: Intuition & Action
Your Gut Brain (the Enteric Nervous System) is the true source of your Intuition. It produces chemicals like 90% of your body's serotonin, linking it directly to your mood and feelings. That sudden, inexplicable feeling that something is "off" or "so right" is the gut sending an urgent signal. Trust this feeling when facts are few.
3. The Heart: Values & Coherence
Your Heart Brain is the seat of your Emotions and Values. Did you know the heart sends more signals to the head than the head sends back? It helps align your decisions with what truly matters to you.
Harmony is the answer. How to make them harmonious? Don't choose between instinct and judgment—use them both!
• Listen to your Gut: Let the feeling register first. It’s your body’s fastest warning system.
• Consult your Head: Gather the facts, check the data, and assess the situation analytically.
• Consult your Heart: Does the decision align with your core values?
The best choices come from a conversation between all three. It’s not about following a rule; it’s about making a choice that protects you, gives you wisdom, and serves you best.
Maybe it is your internal Circus? When you listen to your Head, Heart, and Gut, you are leveraging hundreds of millions of neurons, hormones, and neurotransmitters spread across your body. That’s why decision-making is so hard!
You’ve got your Head demanding a spreadsheet, your Gut yelling "Run!", and your Heart whispering "But maybe they just need a hug?" Stop treating them like three separate employees demanding different things—they are one brilliant, slightly chaotic internal committee. Listen to the whole crew.
