Hello beautiful Souls. My message today is about : 💖 The heavenly Hollywood contract analogy! :
“All the world’s a stage !” 🎬
Ever noticed how life seems to be written by a deeply cynical but hilarious screenwriter? It all boils down to the original casting call on the Celestial Stage, where the Creator was handing out contracts.
First, the “Stunt Double” stepped up. Tasked with heavy lifting and constant action, they were offered a 60-year contract. "Sixty years of bruises? Too much commitment! I'll take a 20-year contract and give back 40." Deal.
Next, the “Stand-Up Comedian” was offered a 20-year run of non-stop laughs and amusement. "Twenty years of performance anxiety? I'll take 10 years of peak material and give back 10." Accepted.
Then came the “Lead Romantic Actor”, given a 20-year contract for pure, effortless enjoyment, eating, sleeping, and looking fantastic. "Only 20 years of fame? I'll take all the years the others returned! That's 60 years extra!" The creator shrugged, "Fine, but you play all those roles."
And that, folks, is why the human script unfolds this way: For the first 20 years, we are the “Romantic Lead”: enjoying the spotlight, looking great, and having fun. For the next 40 years, we become the exhausted “Stunt Double”: doing all the heavy lifting and slaving away to support the production (family). For the next 10 years, we step in as the “Stand-Up Comedian”: doing goofy tricks to entertain the younger cast members (grandkids). And in the final 10 years, we turn into the “Angry Director” sitting in a folding chair, just yelling at everyone who passes the set.
The Final Act: “Gratitude and goodness”
Life is a short, bizarre, and mandatory acting gig where you have to play multiple parts. The key to surviving the production isn't just accepting the extended contract, but embracing the chance to make it a blockbuster through gratitude and kindness.
Be grateful for those easy, carefree opening scenes, for the strength you had during the hard-working middle acts, and for the laughter you get to share near the end.
Use the wisdom gained from all those roles to practice kindness: give grace to the new "Romantic Leads" still enjoying their first act, offer help to the struggling "Stunt Doubles" carrying heavy loads, and always share a smile with the "Comedians.”
Reminder : You signed up for the full 80-year maybe plus run—make the entire, weird, wonderful production worth watching by being the kindest, most versatile actor on set! “The show must go on!
